Welcome.
Since launching in early 2018, Geelong Wedding Guide has been an online platform for local vendors to showcase themselves to potential clients in our directory. Fast forward to 2019 where we had our first large scale expo. I remember worrying that no-one would turn up. Much to my surprise we had a line out the door, well before opening time, and over 2000 people through the doors. We've just wound up our third expo (a little differently this year due to old mate 'Rona) and we're already onto the next phase of Wedding Guide Media - with the addition of Melbourne Wedding Guide.

Not only will this online resource be available, we will also be launching Melbourne Wedding Guide the Magazine. Launching in August 2023, this beautifully printed magazine will be full of local talent, real weddings and elopements, supplier stories, tips + tricks, wedding planning tools and so much more.
We are so grateful to be a part of this incredible industry, celebrating local love.

What makes us unique?
Melbourne Wedding Guide the magazine will have helpful articles written by the Melbourne wedding community, aka the people that know what they’re on about. The articles won’t be your average ‘how do you choose your wedding dress’ articles either! Some examples of articles are ‘why does a photographer cost so much’ and ‘how to look after your mental health during wedding prep’.
The mag will be an informative and helpful guide to planning your wedding. A practical no BS guide to planning your big day!
It will have checklists for each stage of the planning process – not just your average 12, 6 and 3 month lead time checklists.
Plus, the mag will be something that couples will read time and time again, this isn’t just a mag full of ads and pretty pictures – that is what Instagram is for!
All advertisements are offered to suppliers with graphic design available in-house at no additional cost.
Only quality imagery will be accepted for all submissions, whether that is for real weddings or advertisers to ensure that the publication remains a premium product and is consistent throughout.

And something we're beyond excited about is that we're going digital as part of our printed publication! Say helllllo to the era of QR codes (and not ugly ones that stick out like a sore thumb either!). QR codes will be strategically placed throughout the mag to allow readers to find out more or get in touch with their suppliers instantly. Without having to fumble through a website to find out about pricing or a contact form.

Meet The Team.
Dani Fontana
Editor and Creative Director
Wife, mother and owner of Wedding Guide Media, Boutique Event Co + Tom Collins Caravan Bar. Dani first founded Geelong Wedding Guide out of frustration during the planning of her own wedding in 2017. When Dani was planning her own private property wedding, there was virtually nothing online to assist with planning a wedding locally. Of course there were Victorian and Australia-wide directories, however there was nothing specific to her local region. Melbourne Wedding Guide has been the next step in Dani's journey, focusing on honing in on the incredible talent that the Melbourne and surrounding regions has to offer. And now a further gap in the market was found for a fresh, fun and schmick mag that was full of local talent, with relatable weddings and elopements. We have no doubt that you'll love this mag, just as much as we love creating it for you.
Ruby O'Dowd
Graphic Designer
Ruby loves weddings. Over the years she has stock piled her room with wedding magazines, baked wedding cakes, designed wedding stationary, helped style and coordinate weddings and watched endless hours of wedding videos. She has worked as a photographer and graphic designer for the past 5 years, ran a cake business with her bestie Jess and is lucky enough to currently work with Jessica Alderton Events assisting with styling and coordinating weddings. It is such a dream come true to be able to design Melbourne Wedding Guide and help bring it to life, a magazine devoted to celebrating local love.
